Artisan Fashion from Egypt
The National Parks of Egypt are supporting projects for economical empowerment of Artisan women and revitalizing of traditional craftsmanship in protected rural communities, aiming to preserve and encourage precious Egyptian heritage.
Young fashion designers have been experimenting with traditional textiles, weaving techniques, embroideries, beading, quilting etc. They study their cultural roots as artistic inspiration source and develop contemporary fashion, building on traditional know-how and practices. In cooperation with Bedouin women, a project of joint expertise and skills has been developed.
